As we celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th, it's time to highlight the extraordinary women who are reshaping the podcast landscape. From thought-provoking storytellers to inspirational entrepreneurs, these women have been challenging norms and amplifying diverse voices across the globe.

With over 60% of our team being female, we’re proud to honor the achievements of women in the podcast industry – and there’s no better way to celebrate than by spotlighting some of the best brains in audio. 

1. Fatima Zaidi, Founder and CEO of Quill Inc. and CoHost

Fatima is the CEO and Founder of Quill Inc. a full-service podcast agency, and CoHost, a podcast analytics and audience insights tool for brands and publishers. She’s dedicated to furthering the podcast industry through her two companies, teaching brands how to leverage audio and improving audience insights for all creators. 

Over the past few years, Fatima has won two Top 30 Under 30 awards, Veuve Clicquot’s Bold Future Award, The Women in Content Marketing Award, has been named as Young Professional of the Year by Notable Life and one of Flare Magazine’s Top 100 Women.

2. Arielle Nissenblatt, Founder of Earbuds Collective

Arielle Nissenblatt has been working in the podcast space since early 2017 when she started a podcast recommendation newsletter called EarBuds Podcast Collective to help you find your favorite podcast. 

Since then, she’s managed podcast studios, worked as an in-app curator, produced several podcasts, ran successful marketing and PR campaigns for dozens of shows, and organized podcast communities on Twitter, Discord, Slack, and much more.

3. Sharon Taylor, SVP Podcast Strategy & Product Operations at Omny Studio/Triton Digital 

Sharon Taylor is a seasoned technology professional with over 15 years of experience. She joined Triton Digital in 2019 following Triton's acquisition of Omny Studio, a leading podcast technology company where she served as CEO since 2016. Under Sharon's leadership, Omny Studio flourished into a premier audio on-demand hosting and publishing platform globally. 

Currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Podcast Strategy & Product Operations, Sharon oversees the strategic direction of Omny Studio while driving continuous innovation. 

4. Amber Smith, Director of Audience Development for iHeart Media's Custom Podcasts 

Amber began her career as a researcher on the Today Show, honing her skills in content analysis and audience engagement. Transitioning to the audio realm, she served as a producer for SiriusXM, where she gained experience in content creation and production. 

Later, Amber played a pivotal role in negotiating content partnerships for podcasts on SiriusXM and Pandora, showcasing her expertise in content distribution and strategic partnerships. Before her role at iHeartMedia, she led audience development for Slate Magazine's podcast catalog.

5. Lauren Passell, Founder of Tink Media

Lauren Passell is the Founder of Tink Media, a podcast growth company that specializes in podcast PR, creative partnerships, in-app placement, and out-of-the-box strategies that will help your show find its perfect audience.

6. Christina Barsi, Founder and CEO of Avant Haus Media

7. Lindsay Tjepkema, CEO and Co-Founder of Casted 

Lindsay is the CEO and Co-Founder of Casted, an Amplified Marketing Platform revolutionizing how B2B marketers engage audiences and drive growth. With over 15 years of experience as a B2B marketing leader, Lindsay recognized a gap in the market for comprehensive solutions to publish, analyze, repurpose, and amplify audio content, so she created Casted in 2019.

8. Lauren Popish, Founder of The Wave Podcasting 

Lauren Popish is the founder of The Wave Podcasting, a platform dedicated to empowering women to share their distinctive stories through podcasting. As a trailblazer in the industry, Lauren spearheaded the launch of the first podcast audio editing service for women by women in April 2021. 9. Juleyka Lantigua, Founder and CEO of LWC Studios

10. Courtney Kocak, Founder of Podcast Bestie Newsletter 

Courtney Kocak is the creator and curator of Podcast Bestie, a Substack dedicated to empowering aspiring and indie podcasters. With a mission to offer invaluable insights and education, Podcast Bestie helps people launch and maintain impactful audio projects.

Courtney's impressive portfolio includes producing numerous top-ranking podcasts such as "The Bellas Podcast," which debuted at #1 on Apple Podcasts, along with "PayPal’s Never Stand Still" and "Girlboss Radio." Additionally, she hosts two podcasts, "Private Parts Unknown," exploring love and sexuality across the globe, and “The Bleeders,” about book writing and publishing. 

11. Carli van Heerden, Founder and CEO of We Edit Podcasts

12. Jen Sargent, CEO of Wondery 

Jen Sargent, recognized on Business Insider's prestigious Top 100 List of People Transforming Business in 2021, is the CEO of Wondery. Under her leadership, Wondery has soared to prominence with top podcasts such as "Dirty John," "Business Wars," "American History Tellers," and "Inside Jaws." 

Harvard Business School graduate, Jen brings a wealth of strategic insight and business acumen to her role, driving Wondery's continued success and innovation in podcasting.

13. Karen Burgess, Executive for Production, People & Culture at Pacific Content 

With a passion for storytelling, Karen has navigated the media landscape since her formative summer internship at a local CBC Radio station. Karen's expertise spans various genres, having launched three national radio shows covering topics from country music to economics. 

With over two decades of experience, Karen brings her wealth of knowledge to Pacific Content, where she excels in crafting exceptional shows, mentoring hosts and producers, and fostering collaborative team environments.

14. Annalise Nielsen, Head of Strategy and Development at Pacific Content 

Currently at Pacific Content, Annalise is a dedicated podcast professional whose unwavering passion for audio storytelling has defined her career. Her journey began when she produced a captivating five-part podcast series as her Major Research Project for her MFA in Documentary Media. 

Annalise has previously lent her talents to eOne's Podcast Network, where she honed her skills in editing, production, and later, in developing impactful marketing and business strategies. Subsequently, Annalise worked at Frequency Podcast Network, where she made significant contributions to podcast production, including the acclaimed series "The Gravy Train". 

15. Jessica Kupferman, Co-Founder and CEO of She Podcasts 

As the co-founder and CEO of She Podcasts, Jessica spearheads initiatives aimed at empowering women and non-binary podcasters globally. Through comprehensive online membership, engaging in-person events, and a vibrant Facebook support group, Jessica provides vital support and resources to foster growth and success in the podcasting community. 

In the spirit of further support, she and Elsie Escobar created a podcast to address issues and current events in podcasting as they relate to women. The podcast entitled “She Podcasts” now boasts almost 10000 downloads per month. 

16. Kerri Hoffman CEO of PRX

Kerri, a seasoned non-profit executive with over 20 years of experience, is a driving force behind the success of PRX, a leading non-profit media company shaping the future of audio. 

With a passion for meaningful work and effecting change, Kerri has played a pivotal role in the building and evolution of PRX, overseeing significant projects such as the launch of Radiotopia, Ear Hustle, The Moth Radio Hour, and Reveal.

17. Kattie Laur, Founder of Pod the North 

Kattie is a prominent figure in the Canadian podcasting community. She is the author of the biweekly newsletter, Pod the North, a Substack publication focused on spotlighting and nurturing the Canadian podcasting landscape. Pod the North has garnered a dedicated readership, including notable figures from media giants like CBC Podcasts and Spotify.

Currently, Kattie is channeling her expertise into her debut podcast, “Canardian”, set to launch in Spring 2024.

18. Steph Colbourn, CEO of editaudio 

Steph Colbourn is the CEO of editaudio, a podcast production company dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion within the media industry by prioritizing the hiring of women, non-binary, and trans people. 

The company's work has earned nominations for prestigious awards such as the Webby and Ambie Awards. Under Steph's leadership, editaudio continues to elevate the podcasting landscape while championing diversity and representation in media.

19. Heather Osgood, Founder of True Native Media 

Heather Osgood is the Founder of True Native Media, a podcast agency focused on empowering brands through podcast monetization. 20. Leslie Merklinger, Senior Director of Audio Innovation at CBC

Prior to pivoting to the audio industry and launching CBC podcasts, Leslie spent 3 decades as a television producer. Currently, Leslie teaches radio and television arts at Toronto Metropolitan University and holds the title of Senior Director of Audio Innovation at CBC. 

21. Danielle Desir Corbett, Founder of WOC Podcasters and The Thought CardThe Thought Card

Danielle is a podcast marketing coach dedicated to empowering podcasters to build authority in their niche and successfully grow and monetize their show. She is also the esteemed host of “The Thought Card Podcast,” a top-rated show about personal finance and travel.

22. Samantha Rae Lopez, Digital Channels Manager & Lead Communications Chair at Expedia Group

Samantha is an experienced digital marketer currently spearheading Expedia Group’s inaugural B2B podcast, “Powering Travel.” Leveraging her expertise in digital marketing and content creation, Samantha ensures the podcast delivers engaging and informative content tailored to the needs of the travel industry. 

23. Ainsley Rossitto, Senior Director, Podcast Marketing at Paramount

Ainsley Rossitto serves as the Senior Director of Podcast Marketing at Paramount, where she oversees marketing initiatives for Paramount Audio, a premium podcast studio renowned for its creation of fan-centric shows.

27. Liz Hames, Director of Audience Growth at JAR Audio

29. Tanya Springer, Senior Manager at CBC Podcasts

Tanya Springer is the Senior Manager at CBC Podcasts, where she leads the growth strategy for the platform. 30. Nancy Twine, Founder and CEO of Briogeo Hair Care

Nancy Twine is the passionate Founder and CEO of Briogeo Hair Care, known for its commitment to clean beauty. With a background as Vice President of Commodities Sales at Goldman Sachs in New York City, Nancy transitioned from finance to pursue her interest in natural beauty. 31. Donna Duncan, CEO of OLTCA

Donna Duncan is the CEO of OLTCA, bringing a wealth of experience as a broader public sector consultant, chief executive officer, and board director. 

Recently Donna has brought her expertise to the world of audio, serving as the host of OLTCA’s podcast, “Coming of Age.” Where she, alongside advocates, leaders, and affected families discusses how we can best prepare to care for our aging population, build proper infrastructure, and transform the sector to respond to the changing needs of new residents.

50. Vicki La, Global Head of Integrated Marketing at Wondery

Stephanie Andrews, VP of Product 

Steph loves a good challenge and creating novel podcast technology is something she gets up excited to work on every day.

In 2018, Steph saw the need for audio-first content and fell in love with podcasting as a way for brands to conveniently build strong relationships with their customer base. To satisfy the need in the industry, Steph co-founded Origin Media Haus (acquired by Quill in 2020), a boutique podcast and video agency focused on helping brands create engaging audio experiences. Now at Quill Inc., Steph created CoHost, a podcast marketing tool to help podcasters build, scale, and monetize their audiences.

Alison Osborne, VP of Marketing

A passionate storyteller, Ali has worked with various B2C and B2B brands in their marketing and sales departments, placing a focus on data-driven growth. Previously, she was the co-founder and CMO of the branded podcast agency, Origins Media Haus (acquired by Quill Inc.). She is currently Quill’s VP of Marketing where she excels in merging creativity with data to successfully build and grow brands.

Janey Rowe, Director, PMO and Operations

Janey is Quill’s Director, PMO & Operations. She brings over 15 years of experience in television, film & digital content production holding previous roles at Ogilvy, CBC, TIFF & Astral Media to name a few.

Brittany is a versatile Creative Director and content creator. Starting in video from age 16, she has over 8 years of experience in creative content production including web series, short films, music videos, and documentaries for CBC. Her extensive storytelling experience has allowed her to transfer her skills from video to podcasting.

She co-founded Origins Media Haus, a branded podcast and video agency acquired by Quill. Now, Brittany is the Creative Director of Quill where she is in charge of taking a podcast idea and creating it into a polished product.

Sarah Zandbergen, Executive Producer

Sarah has been a storyteller from a young age and has worked with content creation in a variety of capacities for over a decade. Notably, she has been the host of her own podcast and interviewed CEOs, entrepreneurs, financial professionals, and experts in diversity, equity, and inclusion. In 2020, Sarah was recognized for her work by Canadian Mortgage Professional’s Hot List. She was also honored with the Women in the Mortgage Industry Inspiration Award.

Quincy de Vries, Senior Producer

After falling in love with the power of audio storytelling, Quincy has funneled that passion into her work producing stellar audio content for brands. She has worked on narrative, interview, and hybrid shows and brings her strong research and writing background into everything she does. When she’s not busy producing, you can find her reading, writing, and making her third coffee of the day. Quincy holds a BA in History from McMaster University and an MPhil in Medieval History from the University of Cambridge.

Since graduating from Toronto Metropolitan University's RTA program in 2020, she's showcased her talent through the successful production of numerous short films, spearheading a nonprofit fundraising podcast, and contributing to animated series featured on Roku and Prime Video.

Lynn is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Design. She is passionate about all things aesthetically pleasing and building communities through visual identity. Vicki La is the Head of Integrated Marketing at Wondery, a premium podcast studio renowned for its character-driven, binge-worthy stories. With a rich background in marketing and entertainment, Vicki brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles at Hulu, Fullscreen, and SONY Pictures Entertainment. 

At Wondery, Vicki leads the charge in developing integrated marketing strategies to promote Wondery's original content and partner shows, including popular hits like "Dr. Death," "British Scandal," and "Business Wars."

Stacey is Quill’s Chief Operating Officer and brings with her over a decade of experience in creative content production and business operations. She has a long history as a producer having led creative projects for brands like PetSmart, McDonald’s, RBC, and Club House, and she has played a key role in multiple award-winning campaigns. 

Stephanie Andrews, VP of Product 

Steph loves a good challenge and creating novel podcast technology is something she gets up excited to work on every day.

In 2018, Steph saw the need for audio-first content and fell in love with podcasting as a way for brands to conveniently build strong relationships with their customer base. To satisfy the need in the industry, Steph co-founded Origin Media Haus (acquired by Quill in 2020), a boutique podcast and video agency focused on helping brands create engaging audio experiences. Now at Quill Inc., Steph created CoHost, a podcast marketing tool to help podcasters build, scale, and monetize their audiences.

Alison Osborne, VP of Marketing

A passionate storyteller, Ali has worked with various B2C and B2B brands in their marketing and sales departments, placing a focus on data-driven growth. Previously, she was the co-founder and CMO of the branded podcast agency, Origins Media Haus (acquired by Quill Inc.). She is currently Quill’s VP of Marketing where she excels in merging creativity with data to successfully build and grow brands.

Janey Rowe, Director, PMO and Operations

Janey is Quill’s Director, PMO & Operations. She brings over 15 years of experience in television, film & digital content production holding previous roles at Ogilvy, CBC, TIFF & Astral Media to name a few. 

With an extensive background in project management and operations, Janey understands what processes and procedures are needed to efficiently deliver high-quality products on time and within budget while keeping the client’s vision a top priority.

Brittany Nguyen, Creative Director

Brittany is a versatile Creative Director and content creator. Starting in video from age 16, she has over 8 years of experience in creative content production including web series, short films, music videos, and documentaries for CBC. Her extensive storytelling experience has allowed her to transfer her skills from video to podcasting.

She co-founded Origins Media Haus, a branded podcast and video agency acquired by Quill. Now, Brittany is the Creative Director of Quill where she is in charge of taking a podcast idea and creating it into a polished product.

Sarah Zandbergen, Executive Producer

Sarah has been a storyteller from a young age and has worked with content creation in a variety of capacities for over a decade. Notably, she has been the host of her own podcast and interviewed CEOs, entrepreneurs, financial professionals, and experts in diversity, equity, and inclusion. In 2020, Sarah was recognized for her work by Canadian Mortgage Professional’s Hot List. She was also honored with the Women in the Mortgage Industry Inspiration Award.

Quincy de Vries, Senior Producer

After falling in love with the power of audio storytelling, Quincy has funneled that passion into her work producing stellar audio content for brands. She has worked on narrative, interview, and hybrid shows and brings her strong research and writing background into everything she does. When she’s not busy producing, you can find her reading, writing, and making her third coffee of the day. Quincy holds a BA in History from McMaster University and an MPhil in Medieval History from the University of Cambridge.

Tianna Marinucci, Content Marketing Specialist 

Tianna is a content creation and digital marketing specialist who values the intersection of creativity and data. By blending creative thinking with analytics and performance measurement, Tianna works to develop strategies that not only resonate with audiences but also deliver measurable ROI. After traveling to more than 60 countries and working in three, she is inspired by diverse cultures and motivated by unique experiences. 

Sabrina Sciscente, Producer 

Sabrina is a seasoned multimedia producer and content marketer who excels at crafting captivating stories across diverse platforms. Since graduating from Toronto Metropolitan University's RTA program in 2020, she's showcased her talent through the successful production of numerous short films, spearheading a nonprofit fundraising podcast, and contributing to animated series featured on Roku and Prime Video.

Lynn Wangchen, Graphic Designer

Lynn is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Design. She is passionate about all things aesthetically pleasing and building communities through visual identity. When she isn't reviewing wireframes, laying out documents, and making promotional graphics, you can find her freelancing as a digital illustrator for content creators online. 

Katie Bouwers, Web Designer

Katie is a Web Developer and Designer dedicated to crafting user-friendly and inclusive digital experiences. With a particular interest in accessibility, she has contributed to implementing accessibility standards in many of the roles she has been in. In her off time, you'll find her spending time with her two-year-old son, or crocheting.
