Quill is a growing startup in the podcast industry. We offer full-service podcast production and marketing services and work with a wide range of branded podcasts. We’ve had the privilege of working with leading organizations such as BlackRock, Paramount, CIBC, Walmart, PwC, SickKids Foundation, Expedia, and Microsoft, among others.

About the role:

In this role, you will primarily be working with our full-service podcasting clients editing podcasts in a remote first environment. You’ll be responsible for working with our internal team and clients throughout the editing process and providing polished finished products on a wide range of corporate and indie podcasts. This role requires strong technical expertise, a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. You’ll collaborate closely with producers, project managers, and clients to deliver polished, on-brand content that engages audiences and reflects our reputation for excellence. You will report directly to our Post Production Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Video and audio editing of a variety of podcasts at different stages (content and assembly cuts, rough cuts, final masters) to ensure a polished final product
  • Identifying technical issues in audio and video and flagging/identifying how to correct them
  • Adhering to and maintaining established workflows and post-production processes both internally and in relation to client deadlines
  • Working with producers, project managers, creative professionals and clients directly to effectively produce and tell stories through podcasts
  • Being comfortable producing content in various formats for multiple platforms (i.e. social media, audiograms, YouTube podcasts)
  • Acting as a technician on remote recordings: Helping clients set up their microphones and webcams, guiding them through use of our remote recording softwares, monitoring video audio throughout recording sessions and ensuring smooth upload of files; overall creating a professional, comfortable, and seamless experience for clients.

Skills and experience:

  • Well developed audio and video editing skills including editing, mixing, mastering, basic motion graphics and basic colour correction skills
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite; primarily Premiere Pro, Audition and After Effects
  • Baseline knowledge of technical audio best practices and standards including recording software, recording hardware such as microphones, headphones and more.
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and storytelling skills; 
    • Is able to effectively condense and optimize 60-minutes of recorded content into an engaging 20-30 minutes while maintaining the core messaging
  • A willingness to learn the podcasting industry landscape
  • Excellent time management and communication skills

Bonus points if you:

  • Have skills in additional Adobe Creative Suite programs such as InDesign or other editing softwares such as DaVinci Resolve, ProTools etc.
  • Have general knowledge of music licensing laws and different music licensing platforms
  • Have worked in a 100% remote environment before
  • Have experience in podcasting and keep a pulse on emerging media trends
  • Have experience working with corporate clients directly
  • Can speak more than one language
  • Love dogs and all furry creatures

Salary:

$45,000–$50,000
