Creative Account Manager (Podcast Producer)

Quill is hiring a Creative Account Manager (Podcast Producer)!

About Quill:

Quill is a growing startup in the podcast industry. We offer full-service podcast production and marketing services and work with a wide range of branded podcasts.

About the role:

We're looking for a Podcast Account Manager (Producer) to serve as the primary point of contact and creative lead for a portfolio of branded podcasts, spanning subjects from travel and lifestyle to technology. This is fundamentally a client management role: you will own the relationship, the timeline, the budget, and the creative strategy and output for each show you manage, while collaborating with a team (co-producers, audio editors etc.) to execute against that strategy.

This role is best suited to someone with a marketing, PR, or agency background who is energized by both creative content production and managing corporate client accounts, translating brand goals into content strategy, and keeping multiple concurrent projects on track, rather than someone whose primary background is in film, TV, or narrative set production.

Responsibilities:

  • Account & Client Management: Serve as the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of client accounts. Build trusted, collaborative relationships with client teams and ensure consistently excellent client service.
  • Account Management: Own the end-to-end production timeline for each show — keeping deliverables on time, on brief, and on budget, and proactively managing risk across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Content & Creative Strategy: Develop and refine big-picture content strategies, episode plans, and interview angles that are tied directly to each client's brand and growth goals.
  • Analytics, Reporting & Optimization: Monitor podcast performance metrics, translate data into concrete recommendations, and regularly report on and present results to clients.
  • Audience Growth & Marketing: Develop and execute marketing and audience growth strategies for branded podcasts, applying podcast-specific marketing tactics to meet growth and analytics goals.
  • Production Management: Source and chase guests, monitor recordings, work to ensure video and audio output is optimized and meets brand standards.
  • Production Oversight: Collaborate with editors, designers, marketing specialists and co-producers: overseeing recording, editing, and distribution. Provide creative direction and sign off on final edits; guest research and host prep support quality and consistency but are managed as part of the broader account.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate across team members to ensure work aligns with client briefs and standards, and adjust strategy based on goals, KPIs, and analytics.

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong account management instincts: comfortable owning client relationships and being the primary point of contact
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple accounts and deadlines at once
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working with corporate, brand-driven accounts over the long term
  • Strong client management and client service background: comfortable acting as lead point of contact for clients
  • A strategic mindset — able to connect content decisions to marketing and business goals
  • Ability to work independently while also directing a broader production team
  • Strong ability to manage multiple different accounts in various stages of production
  • Some technical experience with remotely recorded content, content production, or ability to learn quickly
  • Strong writing and editing skills, applied in service of client and brand voice
  • Keen research skills and close attention to detail
  • A genuine interest in podcasts and content strategy

Skills and experience:

  • 2-4+ years of experience in an account management, or client services role — ideally within a marketing, PR, communications, or creative agency setting
  • Degree or equivalent in marketing, communications, journalism, media production, or a related field
  • Experience managing multiple client accounts or projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with content or editorial strategy, ideally for a long-form or audio medium
  • Comfort working with analytics and KPIs, and reporting results back to clients
  • Experience with paid and organic marketing tactics and developing marketing strategy
  • Strong copywriting capabilities for loglines, episode descriptions, social media assets, and marketing materials
  • Understanding of audio production workflows sufficient to direct and approve the work of audio editors (prior hands-on editing experience is a plus, not a requirement)
  • Experienced producing content for travel brands or clients
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace
  • Knowledge of podcast distribution platforms and how to operate within that ecosystem

Bonus points if you:

  • Have prior experience at a marketing, PR, or communications agency managing client accounts
  • Have an understanding of the podcasting landscape and industry
  • Have worked in a 100% remote environment before
  • Have previous experience working at or with a startup
  • Love dogs and all furry creatures

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Very competitive vacation package
  • 100% remote work policy (although EST, CST, MST, or PST are preferred)
  • We happily provide or reimburse software you'll need as well as books or courses that promote continued learning
  • Ability to help build a growing startup in the exciting industry of podcasting
