The Joe Budden Podcast: Podcast Review

November 25, 2019

The Joe Budden Podcast can best be described as a bro’s night at the bar and Complex Magazine’s love child. It’s the right balance of typical camaraderie amongst guys when they get together and today’s hottest topics in hip hop culture. Personally, I enjoy it because it’s hilarious and truly makes me feel like I’m a part of the conversation. Sometimes Budden makes corny jokes, but then I remember that he’s a dad and it all makes sense.

Since I’ve started listening to The Joe Budden Podcast I’ve learned a lot about the music industry, sports related politics, new artist releases, as well as Tekashi 69’s trial. Sometimes, Joe will go the extra mile and invite a special guest to the show; on one occasion, he had Chance The Rapper sit in on the podcast. Listening to Chance on the podcast revived my interest in his music for a minute, as listening to him telling his story inspired me to learn more about his success right now. He shared some interesting details on how he still remains on top of the music charts despite being unsigned, how he’s helping Chicago develop their black communities, and his new child and recent marriage to his longtime girlfriend. All this to say, this podcast did that.

Furthermore, the podcast provides a great way to enhance a mundane activity like brushing my cat, doing laundry, or commuting to work through its entertaining, engaging, and interesting content delivered by a retired rapper and his wacky friends.

If I had to rate The Joe Budden Podcast on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give it a 7.5.
